VOLUNTEER HOURS FAQ
Can I get YES hours and GSA hours at the same time?
No, you must complete 140 hours before YES hours will start counting. You cannot double dip.
What can I do for community service hours?
If you are volunteering (no payment) with a non profit organization you can log those hours as community service hours. Any opportunity approved by YES will count as community service hours. Check the YES GUIDELINES and FAQS for more details.
How do I claim my hours?
You get a PINK YES form from an academy co-hort teacher; complete it and turn it in on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday at all three lunches. You MUST adhere to the YES deadlines and policies to claim hours. You can also print the form at home on pink paper.
What is the verification log form for?
The log form is for you to keep track of your hours and cultural events. Please gather signatures on this as well. Keep a copy of the log form for yourself and turn a copy in to Ms. Beckman at the end of the school year or when it is filled up--which ever
happens first.
How do I check my YES/GSA hours?
Check your hours on the YES website by Student ID number. Check this site regularly to ensure that your hours have been entered. It is YOUR responsibility.

UPCOMING EVENTS
June 22 & June 29; 10am-4pm
The district needs help with preparations for New Employee Orientation. Students will be responsible for organizing and preparing folders as well as any other necessary materials. Help is needed from 10am until 4pm on June 22 and June 29 at the FBISD Annex room 232 with Lea Barksdale. Lunch will be provided. Students should wear school appropriate bottoms and their Academy or school tshirt. Students should bring their YES forms or verification logs for signatures from district personnel.

Brazos Bend Elementary School needs help with setting up bulletin boards, textbook delivery, supply delivery, creation of first day packets, and supply inventory. If you can help out, sign up by clicking the link above. Wear an Academy or school tshirt, school appropriate bottoms, and represent us well!
August 12, 13, and/or 14; Times vary
Madden Elementary is opening in August 2015 and the teachers need help getting the brand new school ready! Help is needed unloading teachers' cars, moving supplies into rooms, setting up classrooms, and making bulletin boards. Both parents and students are welcome to volunteer! Students: please wear your Academy or school tshirt, school appropraite bottoms, and very comfortable shoes (preferably tennis shoes).
